A FATHER-DAUGHTER COLLABORATION

Many years ago a small child made a doodle of a bizarre creature, inspiring her father to write a rhyming story. The child’s love of drawing endured, and later in life, they decided that the story deserved more than to be sitting in a notebook collecting dust. It had brought joy to them; perhaps it could bring joy to others, too… so the book of The Dappled Flap Warbler was born.

I bought this book for my step daughter as she’s starting to show an interest in world issues. There are a few on the market but the Dappled Flap Warbler is a breath of fresh air in the children’s book sector. Don’t get me wrong, I love a story about animals making friends, but a lot of children past a certain age are ready to read something a bit different.
